Advertisement Details:
Erafor Forestry Ltd., through their Forests For Tomorrow (FFT) Recipient Agreement, is requesting interested contractors to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to conduct tree planting on areas within the Prince George Forest District.
This work will be primarily focused on areas impacted by mountain pine beetle and wildfire. Areas to be planted are either mechanically site prepared, or untreated standing timber, that require reforestation. The timing of the planting activities is estimated to be from May 1, until June 21, 2010. An estimated 1.2 million seedlings will be planted.
No further advertising will take place. The list created from this EOI will remain valid for the 2010 tree planting season. Contracts will be in the form of either an “Invitation to Tender” or “Request for Proposal”. Submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee any provision of works.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Contractors must provide a completed Appendix 2 showing satisfactorily completed contracts of a minimum of
1,000,000 trees per year for the last 3 years.
- Contractors must be Certified in the BC Forest Safety Council SAFE Company Program
- Contractors must be active and in good standing with Work Safe BC (must meet this requirement prior to
contract award).
- Contractors must not have had a Terminated/Cancelled Contract within the past 5 years, and should not apply if
this is the case
There will be a mandatory information session for this project on October 30, 2010 at Erafor Forestry Ltd.’s office at #9 1839 1st Avenue at 10:00 am. Contractors must pre-register for the mandatory information session by submitting the attached Appendix 1. Contract documentation will be available at the mandatory meeting, but for those contractors that wish to view the sites or review the contract documentation prior to the information session, the maps, prescriptions and contract documents will be available on the Forests For Tomorrow Website at www.forestsfortomorrow.com under the “FFT Bid Opportunities” tab and the project title specific to this opportunity, after 10:00 am on Friday October 23, 2009.
Proposals and/or Tenders, as defined in documentation at the mandatory information session, are due on November 18, 2009 at 4pm PDT. Proposals and/or Tenders will only be accepted from proponents that pre-register and attend the mandatory information meeting.
It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that the Expression of Interest Appendix 1 and 2 are complete and received by Erafor Forestry Ltd, by the October 28, 2009 at 4pm PDT via fax, e-mail, mail, or direct drop off at Erafor’s office. Please clearly label the package/fax/e-mail with the reference name (EOI: 2010 FFT Planting).
