Completed Projects:

1) Reforested 120 hectares of Mountain Pine Beetle impacted stands with 202,000 trees. Project completed spring 2009.

2) Conducted surveys on 600 hectares of Mountain Pine Beetle impacted BC Timber Sales TSL blocks to determine eligilibilty to be reforested under the FFT program. Target blocks had a lodgepole pine content of 70% or greater.

3) Conducted 860 hectares of surveys in the Morice TSA impacted by MPB and other pests to support meeting the FFT target tree planting goal for the TSA.

4) Completed 120 hectares of regeneration survival surveys on areas previously planted under the FFT program to assess plantation survival.

Ongoing Projects:

5) Initiated a project for hazard abatement and plantable spot creation by burning debris piles created during last fiscals site preparation program.

6) A project is underway to complete the planning for the 2010 survey program. Total estimated area is 4,000 hectares.
